How does this work?

If you have an item you would like to sell to us, complete the form found through the Sell Your Gear tab submitting as much information as you know about the item, it’s condition, and provide the photos the form will prompt you to take. Upon review of your online submission we will propose a price by email within 36 hours. Offers are based on the item's condition, popularity/demand, general availability across marketplaces, original price and our intended sale price. If you agree to the price we will send you a shipping label to send us the item. Upon receipt of the item we will determine if it’s condition matches your assessment. If so, payment will be made by Zelle or Venmo. 

How do I send you my items?

Our preference is that you send us the item reusing poly mailers (those plastic bag type packages) from something else you have received…those poly mailers can be used many times and the more they are used the lower their environmental impact. If you are doing this, we will just email you a label once we have agreed on payment amount. If you don’t have a box, poly mailer, bubble mailer, or similar to send us your items we can send you a prepaid poly mailer OR flat rate box/mailer label you can use on a USPS Flat Rate package that you can pick up at your local PO.

How much will I get paid?

You will be paid based on a combination of what the item is, it's original price, how much we believe we can resell it for, it’s condition, and demand for the item type. Some basic ranges you can reasonably expect to be offered  for gently used items are:

Flasks & reservoirs $1
Apparel $3-10
Outerwear $5-20+
Packs $5-30+
Footwear $20-60+
Headlamps & other lights $5-50+
Watches $20-200+
Accessories $1-5+

*Please note these are very general ranges and premium brands or items can garner much higher offers

How will I be paid?

You can choose between Zelle or Venmo. Payment will be made after your item is received, inspected and accepted.

What if you think my item is gently used and I thought it was like new?

If we don’t initially agree about the condition of your item we can adjust the price and you can decide if you want to take the new price or have your item returned to you.

What are reasons you may change the offer price?

Reasons for Take2Trail adjusting our offer after receiving your item may include:

  • undisclosed damage
  • presence of pet hair requiring removal
  • odor removal
  • repairs necessary prior to resale
  • missing parts or packaging you had agreed to include in your item submission
  • items arriving in better or worse condition than we were able to determine through your photo submission

Where do you buy and sell from?

We presently operate within the continental United States. We will expand further as we grow and if you are in HI or AK and want in on the action, message us and we’ll see if we can make it work (probably yes for shoes and watches, not so much for soft flasks).
